Regardless of income, we recommend that all students interested in receiving need-based financial aid complete the FAFSA. It’s your ticket to financial aid beyond institutional scholarships at UIndy and can make the cost of your education even more manageable.
Get prepared before you begin.
First, you and your parent(s) will each need to register for your own StudentAid.gov accounts using social security numbers (SSN) and unique email addresses.
Next, gather the information and documents you’ll need handy while filling out the FAFSA—like SSNs, tax returns, and driver's license numbers.
Fill out and file the FAFSA.
Log into fafsa.gov to fill out the 2024-25 FAFSA. It takes most people less than one hour to complete.

If you haven’t already, submit your application to UIndy! Just fill out our quick application and you’ll be automatically considered for merit scholarships up to $20,000 based on your academic performance. Plus, no essay or test scores are needed.
Once you've filed...
Our financial aid office will use the information you provided on the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for need-based financial aid. Within a few weeks, you’ll receive your official financial aid notification from UIndy.
